FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Here I have written some common questions you may be wondering ahead of your appointment or questions I’ve been asked many times. If there’s anything you want to know which isn’t listed please don’t be afraid to ask.
- Why choose a mobile hairdresser?
For many people having a hairdresser who will come to you is more convenient, it offers you more flexibility and cheaper rates then hair salons. No worrying for children or pet care, no parking or travel problems. With me it’s easy to book an appointment contact me any way – phone call, text message, email, Facebook etc & you know your only going to get me instead of being passed around stylist to stylist. A more personally vist, dedicating that time to you with all my attention focused on you.
- What do I need to supply before you come over to do my hair?
I supply everything you will need for the service you are having. I bring a wheely trolley with everything from gowns, towels, colours, shampoo, products, mirror, hair dryer, straighteners etc. I also bring an extension cable and plastic sheet to put on the floor if you rather a covering for the hair to fall on. All I will need is a chair and a table or something to balance the mirror on.
- How long does each service take?
Below is a rough guideline to how long a service takes. All colour have about 35mins developing time then a free blowdry or cut and finish for just £15 on top of any colour service.
Cut & finish – 1 hour, Hair updo – 1 hour, Finish – 30mins, All over colour application – 45mins, Root colour application -30mins, Full head of highlights – 1hr 30mins , Half head of highlights – 1hour , Men & Children’s cut – 30mins
- Which room is the best for hair services?
Usually the kitchen is most ideal as it usually has a hard floor surface where hair can be swept up. Somewhere where I can place my mirror on such as a table or work top with a chair set up would be ideal. I do have a plastic sheet if needed to be placed on the floor.
- What areas do you cover?
I cover a wide range area across across West Sussex, parts of Surrey & Hampshire. My main areas covered is Midhurst, Chichester, Haselmere, Petworth & Petersfield. Can come out further if needed just ask.
- Do I need to wash my hair beforehand?
If you are a new client then leave your hair dry for me for when I arrive. This will allow me to analyse your hair with the condition, texture and thickness before I start. You can then wash your hair or I can wash it for you, or I can just spray it with water. Whatever you prefer. Once I know your hair you can then wash it for when I arrive for haircuts. For all colours, hair must be dry and unwashed.
- What hours/days do you work?
I am very flexible with days and times. I can do early mornings and late evenings if needed. Whatever suits you. Also bank hoildays and Sundays i am open too. Although I usually have Sundays off if you would like a service on a Sunday then I can do that for you.
- Do you cut men and children’s hair too?
Yes i am trained with men’s hair aswell as woman’s and also experienced with children and baby’s hair as I have worked part time in a childrens salon for a few months. Iam very patience, carful and good with children. I will only do mens hair with a woman’s service along side and my minimum call out charge is £15 for children cuts.
- Are there any charges for late cancellations?
Currently I do not charge for late cancellations or rescheduling appointments. I do ask please try let me know 2 days before if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment.
- Why do I need to have a skin test at least 48hours before any colour service?
It is very important to have a skin test with me at least 48 hours before any colour service. It is a small dot of colour applied behind the ear which tests to make sure your not allergic or or ranted by the colour I will be using. If a rash, itching, swelling or redness ossurs behide the ear or anything unusual then this is a warning sign. Wash the skin test off and let me know if anything does occur. Most of the time it is fine but better to be safe than sorry!
- What happens when you need to rinse the colour or wash hair?
You can either jump in the shower and wash the colour out or wash your hair. Or if your able to put your head over the bath I can rinse and wash your hair for you
- What payment method do you accept?
Either Cash or Bank Transfer to be done while I’m at the house.
- How much notice do I need to give for an appointment?
About 7 days is a good amount of time to give me. If you want a specific date then give me as much notice as possible. I can do short notice appointments if I have availability.
- What colour brand do you use?
I use mostly Wella colours. This can be permanents, semi-permanents and highlifts. If there’s a specific colour brand you prefer me to use then just let me know.
- Do you charge for travel?
If you want me to come out to you which is not on my area list and abit further out then a small fee may be required to cover petrol costs. Otherwise no I do not charge for travel it is included in my service price.
